Restuarants

There are a lot of fabulous restaurants throughout Spain, but there are a few that are exceptional.  Out of the top 10 best restaurants in the entire world, Spain took up three of those spots.  These restaurants are El Bulli, Mugaritz, and El Celler de Can Roca.

El Bulli

El Bulli is named the number 1 restuarant in the whole world.  It is located in Catalonia, on the Costa Brava.  The restaurant is run by Chef Ferran Adriā, who has been working as head chef for almost 30 years.  El Bulli is named the number 1 restaurant in the whole world because of its "molecular gastronomy" and modern ways of creating traditional cuisine. Ferran Adriā studied traditional Spanish food in school and has worked ever since to recreate these traditions into more modern and daring cuisines.  Chef Ferran Adriā has turned traditional Spanish food into artwork.

Mugaritz

Mugaritz is another world renowned restaurant, located in an old farmhouse in San Sebastián. The chef is Andoni Luis Aduriz, who studied and worked at El Bulli.  It evident that Chef Andoni Luis Aduriz worked at El Bulli because he too displays his food in a creative, almost scientific way.  Mugaritz really takes advantage of its surroundings and uses a lot of fresh seafood, meats, and even flowers.  Chef Andoni Luis Aduriz makes every dish look very unconventional, making potatoes appear as rocks. The good thing about Mugaritz is that unlike El Bulli, it is open for lunch and dinner; it is open most of the year, and has a lot more seating and availability.   When dining at this restaurant, one will never experience anything like it.
